This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Design and implement enterprise-grade systems that facilitate digital transformation.
• Pipeline Architecture: Create, develop, and manage efficient ETL/ELT pipelines to process large datasets and high-frequency data streams.
• Enterprise Warehousing: Spearhead the architectural design and enhancement of our enterprise data warehouse, ensuring scalability and performance.
• Modern Transformation: Oversee our data transformation layer utilizing Dataform (preferred) or dbt to orchestrate intricate and reliable workflows.
• Quality & Deployment: Establish automated testing frameworks and deploy scalable services with Docker and Kubernetes to maintain operational integrity.
• Stakeholder Partnership: Serve as a strategic collaborator with Product and Engineering teams, leading data design sessions to optimize data ingestion and utilization.
• Mentorship & Standards: Elevate technical standards through code reviews, design discussions, and the documentation of best practices.
• Technical Mastery: Extensive experience in leading the design of data systems and models.
• Proficient in SQL and Python, demonstrating a strong capability to independently execute complex, production-ready projects.
• In-depth knowledge of dimensional modeling (Kimball) or Data Vault methodologies, crucial for developing scalable enterprise schemas.
• Impact & Scope: Proven history of leading high-impact projects that align with the company's strategic objectives.
• Ability to manage the complete delivery of large-scale features, producing high-quality architectural diagrams and technical documentation.
• Significant experience with modern DevOps practices, including Infrastructure as Code, GitOps, and managing transformation layers at scale.
• Business & Domain Knowledge: Ability to advise senior stakeholders on leveraging Data Engineering to tackle complex business challenges.
• Comfortable leading cross-functional design sessions.
• Leadership & Culture: Foster a data-driven culture by mentoring colleagues and effectively communicating technical successes and challenges to the broader Technology & Product department.
