Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Design, construct, and sustain robust ETL/ELT data pipelines utilizing Google Cloud Platform.

• Develop efficient, production-grade SQL for data modeling, transformation, and analysis.

• Create and maintain Python-based scripts for data processing and automation.

• Establish and oversee workflow orchestration using Apache Airflow (e.g., Cloud Composer).

• Collaborate with Datastream and other GCP services to ingest and replicate data from source systems.

• Support and maintain data models and dashboards in Looker.

• Implement data quality checks, monitoring, and alerts for pipelines.

• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to pipelines and data.

• Work together with analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to comprehend data requirements.

• Document pipelines, data flows, and associated processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent practical experience).

• Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in data engineering, data pipeline development, or a similar data-centric position.

• Proficient SQL skills — capable of writing complex queries, optimizing performance, and managing large datasets.

• Strong Python skills — able to independently build data pipelines, automation, and scripts.

• Practical experience with cloud platforms, ideally Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery, Cloud Storage, etc.).

• Familiarity with workflow orchestration tools, particularly Apache Airflow.

• Solid understanding of data warehousing, data modeling, and ETL/ELT best practices.

• Excellent problem-solving capabilities and the ability to work autonomously.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

• Must be available to work US shifts.
