This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Development and Maintenance of Data Pipelines: Collaborate within a mixed-maturity pipeline environment.
• Data Modeling: Create and enhance data models that cater to a wide range of users. Ensure the data is accessible and reliable, not just available.
• Integration of Simulation Data: Engage with the in-house simulation suite to implement data-capturing features and guarantee that simulation outputs seamlessly integrate into downstream pipelines alongside real-world field data.
• Quality Assurance & Observability of Data: Equip pipelines with quality checks, anomaly detection, and alert systems to identify issues early.
• Cross-Functional Data Assistance: Convert ambiguous requests into clearly defined requirements, repeatable datasets, and user-friendly Dashboards for independent team use in the future.
• Contribution to Data Platform Infrastructure: Enhance the functionalities and reliability of our internal data platform over time.
• Documentation: Take ownership of the technical documentation for pipelines, data models, and schemas you work on. In a cross-functional team, thorough documentation acts as a significant force multiplier.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Data Engineer in a startup or fast-paced setting.
• Strong expertise in Python and SQL, along with practical experience in developing production-grade data solutions.
• Proven experience in designing and sustaining data pipelines and data models/warehouses that handle large, structured scientific or engineering datasets.
• Hands-on experience with AWS (e.g., S3, ECS, Lambda, IAM) combined with CI/CD and containerization (e.g., GitHub Actions or CircleCI, Docker) for the automation, deployment, and maintenance of data and ML workloads in the cloud.
• Practical experience in MLOps: setting up and managing MLOps frameworks (e.g., MLFlow, DVC).
