This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Architect, develop, and take ownership of Overflow's fundamental data infrastructure from the ground up — including pipelines, warehouses, data models, and orchestration.
• Design and implement scalable ETL/ELT pipelines that gather, transform, and provide clean, reliable data throughout Overflow's platform and business functions.
• Construct and maintain a unified data layer that integrates information across Engineering, Product, Finance, Revenue, Success, and Operations.
• Create well-structured, intuitive data models that enable self-service analytics across the organization and support OLAP views in customer-facing applications.
• Develop and sustain dashboards and reporting infrastructure that offers leadership real-time insights into crucial business metrics — total giving volume, client sentiment, payment revenue.
• Collaborate with the Head of AI to design storage schemas and organization strategies for semi-structured and unstructured data, ensuring the clean structures necessary for advanced MLOps, RAG pipelines, and agent memory.
• Implement Databricks Unity Catalog to enforce stringent data governance, documentation standards, access controls, and role-based visibility throughout the organization.
• Build for reliability by establishing data quality monitoring, alerting, and validation frameworks to guarantee data accuracy and trustworthiness.
• Work closely with Engineering, Product, Finance, Payment Ops, Support, and RevOps to comprehend data requirements and deliver scalable solutions.
• Serve as the internal expert and advocate for data — educating teams on best practices and assisting them in formulating better questions regarding the data.
• Contribute to the product roadmap by highlighting data-driven insights concerning customer behavior, platform performance, and market opportunities.
• Over 5 years of Data Engineering experience, preferably having served as the first or lead Data Engineer in a rapidly growing tech, fintech, or SaaS company.
• Demonstrated ability to design efficient OLAP schemas tailored for complex financial transactions and business metrics.
• Strong expertise with AWS data services and developing reliable Change Data Capture pipelines.
• Solid familiarity with NoSQL databases and a profound understanding of relational SQL databases.
• Capability to translate intricate business requirements from Finance and Sales into technical data models, along with collaborative skills to work effectively with MLOps, Business Operations, and Software Engineering teams.
