Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.

📋 Description

• Participate in the design and development of scalable data pipelines utilizing AWS services such as Glue, S3, Athena, and Step Functions.

• Create and enhance both batch and streaming ingestion pipelines, incorporating CDC-based architectures.

• Assist in the design and implementation of data models that meet business and analytical requirements.

• Guarantee the quality, reliability, and performance of pipelines and datasets.

• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure technical solutions are in line with business needs.

• Employ best practices in data engineering, focusing on modular design, reusability, and governance.

• Utilize AI-assisted development tools to enhance productivity and improve code quality.

• Actively identify risks, bottlenecks, and opportunities for optimization within data workflows.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.

• Practical experience with the AWS ecosystem, specifically Glue, S3, Athena, and Step Functions (mandatory).

• Strong proficiency in Python and PySpark for developing data pipelines (mandatory).

• Experience with Snowflake or comparable cloud data warehouse platforms (advantageous).

• Knowledge of data pipeline architecture and design patterns.

• Familiarity with CDC (Change Data Capture) patterns and streaming ingestion.

• Background in data modeling for analytics and reporting use cases.

• Awareness of AI-assisted development tools (advantageous).

• Excellent problem-solving abilities and capacity to work effectively in collaborative, agile settings.

• English proficiency: Advanced (necessary for effective communication with international teams).
