This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with Enterprise Architects, Senior Architects, and cross-functional teams, including business stakeholders, to develop solution architectures that align with a cohesive IT data strategy.

• Contribute to Empower’s technology roadmap by documenting target state architectures, reference architectures, and essential dependencies for the initiatives we support.

• Design and facilitate the modernization and migration of intricate systems to scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud architectures, partnering with delivery teams throughout implementation.

• Assess and prototype new technologies and applications, constructively challenge existing methodologies, and provide insights for business cases and recommendations.

• Implement and assist in operationalizing architectural standards, best practices, and governance expectations, promoting consistent adoption through guidance and enablement.

• Work closely with business and engineering teams to create end-to-end solutions that fulfill strategic, technical, and operational goals.

• Offer architectural guidance in process design, system orchestration, and enterprise integration to ensure cohesive and efficient technology ecosystems.

• Advocate for security, resilience, and scalability as fundamental design principles across data platforms and solutions.

• Contribute to the maturity of the architecture discipline by generating reusable patterns, decision documentation, and lessons learned that enhance consistency and delivery speed.

• Support full stack development teams in solution design and implementation, improving long-term scalability, performance, and cost efficiency.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in computer science or a related field, such as information systems, mathematics, or software engineering, or equivalent experience.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in delivering data-intensive solutions, such as in data engineering, analytics engineering, data platforms, BI, or similar roles.

• At least 1 year of proven solution design ownership for moderately complex initiatives, acquired as an architect or in a senior engineering or technical lead role responsible for end-to-end design, architectural trade-offs, and guiding implementation.

• Demonstrated experience in various data-focused roles, including Data Engineer, ETL/ELT, Data Architect, Database Administrator, BI or Analytics Engineer, Data Science, data governance, or a related field.

• Proficiency in architecture frameworks, performance optimization, and addressing cross-cutting concerns including availability, caching, monitoring, scalability, and security.

• Strong problem-solving and strategic thinking abilities, with the capacity to influence cross-functional teams and clearly communicate architectural decisions in distributed environments.

• Extensive expertise in designing data and cloud architecture, preferably with AWS, ensuring scalability, performance, and security with systems like Snowflake or Redshift.

• Proven capability to convert complex data into actionable business insights and reporting solutions that deliver comprehensive and current information to business users.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
