This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Taking ownership and advancing the comprehensive data architecture in alignment with Cooper Parry’s strategy and enterprise standards.
• Establishing architectural patterns, principles, and standards for: Data ingestion, Data transformation, Data modeling, Analytics, and reporting.
• Serving as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders regarding data architecture decisions.
• Designing and supervising solutions utilizing Microsoft Fabric, which includes: OneLake Lakehouse and Warehouse architectures, Data Pipelines, Spark / Notebooks, and Semantic models.
• Ensuring the platform's scalability, optimizing performance, enhancing cost efficiency, and maintaining security.
• Guiding the transition from legacy platforms where necessary.
• Providing technical leadership across data engineering practices, which encompass: Batch and streaming data pipelines, ELT/ETL frameworks, and CI/CD for data platforms.
• Architecting reliable integrations from both internal and third-party systems.
• Setting standards for data quality, validation, and monitoring.
• Defining and enforcing: Data governance frameworks, Master and reference data strategies, and access control with role-based security.
• Ensuring adherence to GDPR and organizational security standards.
• Advocating for high data quality and transparency in data lineage.
• Collaborating closely with: Data Engineers, Analytics Engineers, BI Developers, Product, and Business stakeholders.
• Mentoring and enhancing the skills of team members.
• Reviewing solution designs and offering constructive architectural recommendations.
• Demonstrated experience as a Data Architect or Senior Data Engineer with architectural responsibilities.
• Strong practical experience with Microsoft Fabric.
• In-depth knowledge of: Modern data lakehouse architectures, Dimensional and analytical data modeling, and Data pipeline orchestration.
• Proficient SQL skills and experience with distributed data processing.
• Experience in designing enterprise-scale analytics platforms within Azure.
• Capability to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.
• Experience in integrating and modeling professional services data (preferably).
• Familiarity with Power BI semantic models and DAX (preferably).
• Experience with Azure ecosystem services (e.g., Azure AD, monitoring, networking) (preferably).
• Experience working within agile product or platform teams (preferably).
• Experience in designing data architectures and integrations for CRM and professional services platforms, such as Salesforce or similar systems, and understanding common challenges related to CRM and services data, including: Complex relational structures, Slowly changing dimensions, and Data duplication and reconciliation across systems (preferably).
