Data Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Convert business requirements into data requests, reports, and dashboards.

• Proficient in Database and modeling concepts with experience in SQL and NoSQL databases.

• Strong understanding of data architecture patterns and principles, with the capability to design secure and scalable data lakes, data warehouses, data hubs, and other event-driven architectures.

• Specialized in designing and developing ETL processes using Python, Java, or Scala.

• Familiarity with the Hadoop framework, including exposure to PySpark, Spark, Storm, HDFS, and Hive.

• Extensive hands-on experience with either Databricks or Snowflake; experience with both is a plus.

• Knowledgeable in Master Data Management and associated tools.

• Well-versed in data security and privacy regulations (GDPR, HIPAA) and best practices.

• Adept at ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and quality.

• Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP data engineering services.

• Familiarity with AWS services such as S3, Redshift, Lambda, DynamoDB, EMR, Glue, Lakeformation, Athena, Quicksight, RDS, Kinesis, Managed Kafka, API Gateway, and CloudWatch.

• And / OR

• Familiarity with Azure services including ADF, Data Catalog, Databricks, Azure Synapse Analytics, ADLS Gen2, and Azure DevOps.

• Capable of implementing data validation processes and establishing data quality standards.

• Experience with Linux.

• Proficient in data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms to generate meaningful insights.

⛳️ Requirements

• Evaluate existing data components, conduct POCs, and consult with stakeholders.

• Propose comprehensive solutions to enterprise-specific data challenges, overseeing data collection, extraction, integration, cleansing, enrichment, and visualization.

• Able to design extensive data platforms to support Data Engineers, Analysts, and Scientists with significant exposure to various data architectures, data lakes, and data warehouses.

• Define the tools and technologies for developing automated data pipelines, writing ETL processes, creating dashboards and reports, and generating insights.

• Continuously assess the current state for alignment with architectural goals, best practices, and business requirements, including database modeling, optimal data storage decisions, creating data flow diagrams, and maintaining relevant documentation.

• Ensure performance, reliability, reusability, resilience, scalability, security, privacy, and data governance during data architecture design.

• Apply or recommend best practices in architecture, coding, API integration, and CI/CD pipelines.

• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to address data-related requirements.

• Support the growth of the Practice by mentoring junior members, leading initiatives, and driving Data Offerings.

• Provide thought leadership by representing the Practice/Organization on internal and external platforms.
