This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Develop and manage the Analytics Products.
• Create, build, and uphold curated data sources, dashboards, and reports that facilitate operational decision-making across our programs.
• Oversee each product from start to finish — encompassing requirements gathering, development, documentation, training, and continuous improvement.
• Write SQL and shape the Data Model.
• Design, optimize, and sustain SQL for our cloud data environment.
• Collaborate with data engineering to provide necessary data and contribute to a robust, well-organized analytical layer.
• Clearly articulate data requirements and build for optimal performance and reuse.
• Automate recurring reporting.
• Develop and manage Python-based reporting pipelines for ongoing operational, compliance, and quality deliverables.
• Conduct thorough validation — reconcile figures with source data, perform quality assurance before publication, and stand behind the data you present.
• Document, train, and maintain.
• Create comprehensive documentation for the data sources and dashboards you develop.
• Educate and empower the users of these resources.
• Maintain a prioritized backlog of enhancement requests and adjust priorities as business needs evolve.
• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field, or a degree combined with equivalent practical experience as a data analyst.
• 3+ years of experience in data analytics roles, demonstrating the ability to drive complex projects to decision-making and resolution.
• Proficient SQL skills — capable of articulating needs, developing a sustainable model, and optimizing performance.
• Advanced skills in dashboarding/BI; Tableau is strongly preferred (experience with product-embedded dashboards is a plus).
• Proficiency in Python for data processing (including pandas and related libraries) and report automation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills tailored to the audience, with the ability to work independently in a lean team setting.
• Strong focus on results: delivering high-quality work on time.
• Preferred experience in healthcare analytics, particularly with Medicaid and California CalAIM; familiarity with EMR or care management system reporting.
• Knowledge of dimensional/Kimball data modeling and the bronze/silver/gold (medallion) pattern.
• Experience with Azure (SQL, cloud data services); knowledge of Databricks is an advantage.
• Familiarity with Salesforce / Health Cloud as a data source.
• Comfort using AI coding assistants (e.g., Claude Code, Copilot, Cursor) to expedite development, along with the judgment to validate and refine generated outputs.
