Data Analyst

📋 Description

• We are looking for a Data Analyst to become a part of our Technical Services team.

• This role presents a distinctive opportunity for a highly motivated, entrepreneurial individual with a diverse skill set to join the Development team, which engages in responsibilities that extend beyond typical analysis and development.

• The ideal candidate will possess a robust understanding of Power BI and demonstrate flexibility and strategic thinking to handle a variety of tasks.

• This Data Analyst will be tasked with preparing data for both analytical and operational purposes; constructing data pipelines to aggregate information from various source systems; integrating, consolidating, and cleansing data, followed by creating visualizations, dashboards, reports, and content tailored for employees and clients.

• Requirements Gathering – Collaborate directly with our business partners to identify, comprehend, and convert key metrics into high-quality analytics solutions aimed at enhancing and improving critical business processes.

• Visualization Design – Possess the ability to transform those requirements into impactful dashboards that showcase large volumes of data in a manner that facilitates better, informed decision-making for the organization.

• Dashboard Development (Power BI) – Leverage your skills and knowledge to assemble your visualizations into top-tier analytics dashboards primarily utilizing Microsoft Power BI.

• Innovation – Advocate for the implementation of new practices regarding integration, maintenance, testing, deployment, reporting, and analytics.

• Governance – Collaborate with subject matter experts to create solutions using approved calculations and data elements, with an emphasis on adhering to proper data governance.

• Risk & Compliance – Ensure that all BI solutions are designed and developed to comply with, and consistently adhere to, data privacy and other risk and compliance policies, procedures, and controls.

⛳️ Requirements

• Professional proficiency or fluency in English.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, information systems, or a related field.

• At least 2 years of experience using Power BI as a primary tool for analysis and visualization.

• A minimum of 4 years of experience in developing queries and utilizing data from Azure, SQL, or similar tools, actively engaging with the data in Power BI or comparable visualization tools.

• Extensive experience in data transformation using Power BI Query Editor.

• Ability to swiftly gather requirements, understand subject matter, and extract and transform data.

• Skilled in optimizing data models and visualizations to maximize Power BI's speed of response.

• Familiarity with automating, delivering, and scheduling Power BI reports.

• Capability to test data models, calculations, and the quality of analytical outputs.

• Experience with Power Query ("M" language) and DAX language.

• Strong aptitude for connecting to various data sources and effectively using the queried data in Power BI.

• Proficient in developing highly visual reports, dashboards, and data narratives.

• Solid understanding of secondary tools like SQL and Azure.

• Proven experience in visualization best practices, data optimization, and model efficiency.

• Ability to effectively present and deliver work to the appropriate audience.

• Utilize data quality assurance practices in developing data models and their resulting outputs.

• Deadline-oriented with the capability to manage multiple deliverables simultaneously.

• Candidates should expect to showcase their Power BI knowledge and data expertise with team members (a sanitized portfolio is desirable).

• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team, with the agility to respond to rapidly changing environments.
