This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Classify, code, summarize, interpret, and compute registry/case information from detailed patient medical records.
• Ensure the accurate submission of data in designated registries or data repositories while upholding a high accuracy standard.
• Organize and prioritize multiple simultaneous tasks and team requests, meet stringent deadlines, manage expectations, identify obstacles, and propose timely solutions.
• Navigate through electronic medical records and registry/case entry tools effectively.
• Resolve technical issues with systems and applications utilizing team resources.
• Contribute to the development of team best practices, data dictionaries, abstraction guidelines, and business rule documentation.
• Recognize opportunities for process improvements to enhance task efficiency.
• Stay updated with mandated regulatory and publicly reported data requirements.
• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
• Direct clinical data abstraction experience within the MBSAQIP registry over the past year.
• Current MBSCR certification.
• Familiarity with various patient medical record systems (EMRs) and clinical databases.
• Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
• Capability to synthesize data and offer recommendations.
• High standards regarding accuracy and attention to detail.
• Technically proficient with a willingness to learn new systems and technologies.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects and patient records.
• Clear and consistent communication with hospital partners, peers, team leads, and others.
• Strong self-organization and time management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple accounts and adapt to shifting timelines and priorities.
• Flexibility to adjust to changing timelines, requirements, and project assignments from hospital partners.
• Commitment to keeping PHI secure and confidential.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States now or in the future without sponsorship.
• Direct clinical experience, RN, LPN, RT, or RCIS credentials preferred.
