This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain, +4 more countries.
• The role of Czech Linguist includes overseeing translation and copy-editing tasks, ensuring the delivery of high-quality linguistic outputs for designated projects or accounts.
• Duties encompass coordinating with freelancers and agencies, managing language resources, addressing terminology questions, and collaborating with clients and internal teams to improve workflow efficiency.
• A university degree in Translation, Applied Languages, or Linguistic Studies, or a comparable combination of education and experience (university degree in other fields plus two years of full-time translation experience; OR five years of full-time professional translation experience).
• Native-level proficiency in the Czech language.
• Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, across a range of registers.
• A minimum of four years of experience in translation, localization, editing, or content writing.
• At least two years of experience in review roles.
• Comprehensive understanding of the localization process.
• Proficient use of standard software, including Windows and Office applications.
• Familiarity with standard CAT tools, such as XTM, SDL Studio, as well as issue tracking and query management tools like JIRA.
• Capability to rapidly learn new localization tools and applications.
• Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication abilities.
• Strong knowledge of terminology utilized in two or more subject areas.
• Capacity to work under tight deadlines.
• Ability to provide clear, concise, and constructive feedback.
• Skill in effectively presenting information and addressing inquiries from groups of managers, clients, customers, and linguists.
• Proficiency in solving practical problems and managing a variety of concrete variables in situations with limited standardization. Ability to interpret various types of instructions presented in written, oral, diagrammatic, or scheduled formats.
• Willingness and capability to train or teach others and share knowledge.
• Experience and willingness to positively communicate with customers at various levels.
