Cytogenetics Analyst – FISH

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.

📋 Description

• Conduct FISH analysis, which encompasses the examination and imaging of digitized images.

• Perform cytogenetic analysis of metaphase spreads using computerized images.

• Review cytogenetic cases through computerized images and associated documents.

• Examine test requisitions to collect relevant information for analysis.

• Summarize test outcomes using ISCN nomenclature.

• Differentiate between normal and abnormal test results.

• Oversee, operate, and troubleshoot equipment, software, and applications to ensure optimal functionality.

• Exhibit the capability to make technical decisions related to testing and problem resolution.

• Report precise and timely test results to provide quality patient care.

• Inform the general supervisor of any issues promptly.

• Collaborate with the general supervisor on the development and review of protocols and policies.

• Provide insights to senior technologists on technical issues.

• Understand and adhere to company policies and procedures.

• Maintain a safe working environment.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology.

• ASCP certification in Cytogenetics (ASCP CG).

• A minimum of 1 year of experience in FISH and Chromosomes for Oncology Cytogenetics.

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting.

• Proficient in computer usage; familiarity with laboratory information systems is advantageous.

• High attention to detail along with excellent communication and organizational abilities.

• Capable of passing a standardized color blindness test.

• Willingness to work overtime or other shifts as required by business needs.
