Cyber Security Analyst I

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Assist in the proactive monitoring of client environments to identify, analyze, track, and mitigate external threats using a multi-tenant SIEM and various managed security service tools.

• Examine, investigate, document, and report on security alerts as well as potential security incidents within customer environments.

• Thoroughly and promptly process security investigation cases.

• Act as the incident coordinator for events necessitating urgent response, containment, and remediation.

• Create investigative notes for all security alerts and incidents.

• Offer feedback on enhancements to security processes and customer satisfaction.

• Stay updated on security training, certifications, and emerging threats.

• Escalate security investigations when necessary.

• Complete and relay shift-change documentation.

• Adhere to SOPs and escalation communication protocols.

• Provide clients with valuable security consultation during external communications.

⛳️ Requirements

• 0–3 years of experience in a Security Operations Center (SOC) environment.

• Fundamental understanding of query languages.

• General knowledge of programming language operations.

• Experience or education in system networking.

• Working knowledge or experience with Office 365.

• Strong problem-solving abilities.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Capability to work both collaboratively in a team and independently.

• Must be a U.S. Citizen and reside within the United States or its Territories.

• Previous experience with Sumo Logic, Defender, Google Chronicle, and/or Azure Sentinel is highly advantageous.

• Industry security certifications such as Security+, CySA+, or GSEC are preferred.

• Experience or familiarity with industry-standard SOAR/SIEM solutions is preferred.

• Strong organizational skills and advanced analytical/problem-solving capabilities are preferred.

• A B.S. in Cybersecurity or an equivalent qualification is preferred.
