Cyber Security Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Conduct investigations into advanced and persistent threats utilizing data analysis and data science tools.

• Examine customers' web traffic to identify unknown threats and minimize false positives through the use of Elasticsearch and BigQuery.

• Research, develop, and consistently refine detection methods to remain ahead of evolving threats.

• Offer real-time technical assistance to global clients, ensuring professional and prompt incident responses.

• Create clear and informative incident reports.

• Collaborate across departments with R&D and Research teams to enhance the company’s detection and mitigation strategies.

• Design, plan, and execute internal automation initiatives to boost team productivity.

• Work on a shift-based schedule, which includes weekends.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in data analysis within cybersecurity or fraud detection fields, including familiarity with logs and dashboards.

• Proficient in SQL: adept at complex queries, aggregations, GROUP BY, ORDER BY, filters, window functions (e.g., RANK()), CTEs, and subqueries.

• Technical knowledge of web technologies and client-server architecture (APIs, HTTP, basic HTML/JavaScript).

• Experience with SIEM systems (knowledge of the Elastic Stack is a plus).

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.

• Background in customer support, including direct client interactions; professionalism and courtesy are crucial.

• Excellent English communication skills.

• WOULD BE A PLUS: Experience in a Cybersecurity Analyst/Researcher role, particularly in supporting external clients with threat detection and response.

• Background in web security and security research: web application security, bot management, fraud detection.

• Familiarity with research methodologies (hypothesis testing, verification, and research planning).

• Knowledge of Python and JavaScript.

• Experience with BigQuery/Snowflake.

• Expertise in building dashboards using BI tools (Snowflake, Looker, Kibana, JSM).
