This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Montana, +1 more state.
• Conduct field inspections, which include interpreting maps and aerial imagery as well as measuring fields and storage bins.
• Engage in discussions with farmers regarding crop-loss evaluations on intricate, non-standard, challenging, and contentious claims.
• Communicate complex regulations and their interpretations to claimants, agents, and industry professionals.
• Carry out fact-finding related to crop damage and relay loss details to assess potential indemnities.
• Collect pertinent information, apply relevant laws, and establish fundamental negligence principles.
• Execute claim reviews and audits for lower-level adjusters as directed.
• Maintain an up-to-date understanding of regulatory and company policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal standards.
• Participate in team efforts and engage in projects as necessary.
• Travel approximately 50% of the time to cover the designated territory.
• High School Diploma or equivalent qualification.
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in crop insurance and claims adjustment.
• Certification in Crop Adjuster Proficiency Program (CAPP) must be acquired within 180 days of employment.
• Reliable personal transportation and capability to travel within the designated territory.
• Ability to walk in agricultural fields for distances up to 3 miles.
• Capacity to climb agricultural storage bins up to 25 feet high.
• Capability to lift weights ranging from 25 lbs. to 50 lbs.
• Willingness to work outdoors in a variety of temperatures and weather conditions.
• Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities.
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office at an intermediate level.
• Experience in providing technical training to other crop industry professionals.
• Must reside and provide services within a 50-mile radius of specified counties in Montana or Wyoming.
• Employment sponsorship is not available.
• Eligibility for a short-term incentive bonus of 5% for the RCIS Crop Claims Field Adjuster I.
• Eligibility for a short-term incentive bonus of 5% for the RCIS Crop Claims Field Adjuster II.
• Eligibility for a short-term incentive bonus of 10% for the RCIS Crop Claims Specialist.
