This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas.
• Answer calls, chats, and texts for the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline and local crisis lines.
• Work collaboratively with individuals in crisis, family members, and both internal and external treatment team members.
• Provide person-centered services that encourage coping skills, recovery, and resilience.
• Facilitate access to natural supports and community resources.
• Evaluate strengths, needs, barriers, and challenges related to crises and short-term objectives.
• Deliver education, counseling, problem-solving, role modeling, referrals, advocacy, and crisis intervention.
• Organize and manage referrals to behavioral health and substance use services.
• Adhere to procedures and protocols for text/chat, crisis calls, and care coordination queues.
• Respond swiftly and professionally to service requests during scheduled shifts.
• Collaborate with CCBHCs, hospitals, and other service providers.
• Conduct follow-up calls, texts, or chats for postvention support.
• Accurately and promptly complete necessary documentation.
• Stay informed about current agency and program training requirements.
• Maintain HIPAA confidentiality and privacy standards.
• Foster healthy relationships, maintain professional boundaries, uphold ethical practices, and exhibit a kind demeanor.
• Carry out additional responsibilities that support the organization’s mission and objectives.
• A bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may also be considered.
• A minimum of two (2) years of experience providing person-centered support services.
• Proficiency with computers and previous experience using technology independently in a professional environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience engaging with diverse populations.
• Exceptional customer service skills.
• Capability to learn and navigate new technologies, software applications, and phone systems.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Skill in maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• A positive and proactive attitude towards change and challenges.
• Proficiency in preparing and submitting detailed, accurate reports to the Department of Child and Families (DCF).
• Must successfully clear all required background checks.
• Preferred: one (1) year of experience in a CCBHC or CMHC.
• Preferred: previous crisis intervention experience, minimum of one (1) year.
• ICH Crisis Helpline Specialist Certification must be obtained within 12 months of hire.
