This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Deliver evidence-based information and referrals, brief supportive counseling, crisis intervention, and suicide prevention assistance to callers and/or chat/text visitors experiencing emotional distress.
• Provide follow-up support to high-risk callers expressing suicidal and/or homicidal thoughts and behaviors.
• Engage in at least two Lifeline continuing education webinars each fiscal year.
• Comply with the policies and procedures associated with each service provided by the program.
• Conduct assessments in line with program policies and procedures.
• Use resource referral databases to offer information and referral support to callers seeking mental health and substance abuse services.
• Document client interactions accurately and efficiently.
• Interact with clients via SMS texting, voice calls, and/or web chat.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• A bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Forensic Psychology, or a related field is preferred, or 4+ years of experience in place of a degree.
• A minimum of 1 year of experience in behavioral health and/or call center environments.
• Strong preference for candidates with experience in behavioral health and call center settings.
• Proficient in the English language, both spoken and written.
• Must be able to attend an uninterrupted 3-week training class.
