This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Delivering crisis intervention, emotional support, and resources to individuals seeking help via telephone.
• Provides crisis counseling services with the goal of answering 95% of calls in 20 seconds or less.
• Conducts safety assessments and planning, de-escalation, and follow-up with individuals seeking assistance.
• Acts as a mandated reporter in instances of suspected abuse or neglect.
• Keeps precise and comprehensive contact reports, ensuring real-time documentation.
• Guides and mentors volunteers throughout their training and offers ongoing support.
• Participates in regularly scheduled meetings for the Suicide Prevention Center.
• A minimum of six months of applicable behavioral health experience.
• At least one year of experience in crisis intervention or suicide prevention is highly preferred.
• Must possess a high school diploma or an equivalent qualification.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Strong interpersonal abilities and a high level of emotional intelligence are essential.
• Excellent multi-tasking and time management skills are required.
• Proven capability to effectively utilize web-based platforms and electronic documentation systems.
• Must have high-speed internet with an active Ethernet connection.
• Availability and flexibility to work within the program's operational hours, including weekends and holidays, are necessary.
• Completion of yearly mandatory continuing education training is required.
• Familiarity with job-specific skills such as safety assessments and data collection is essential.
• A goal-oriented team player is desired.
• Reasonable notice is given for schedule changes to assist with personal planning.
• Loan repayment programs may be available for eligible employees.
