Country Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Japan.

📋 Description

• Take charge of Toon Boom’s operations in Japan, overseeing the market strategy and driving revenue growth.

• Create and implement a tailored go-to-market strategy focusing on direct sales, partnerships, and customer success.

• Establish and nurture relationships with top animation studios, serving as the executive sponsor for key accounts.

• Promote the adoption of Toon Boom’s Ember AI features, educating the market on workflows enhanced by AI.

• Broaden Toon Boom’s presence among current clients while attracting new studios, broadcasters, and enterprise customers.

• Develop and oversee a partner ecosystem, including resellers and strategic partnerships.

• Lead and expand the Japan-based team across sales, support, and marketing as the business scales.

• Represent the voice of the Japanese market internally, offering insights that shape product roadmap, localization, and pricing.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 15 years of experience in the Japanese animation industry and/or the animation software ecosystem.

• Extensive network and established credibility with Japanese animation studios, producers, and key production figures.

• In-depth understanding of frame-by-frame animation workflows and production pipelines specific to Japan.

• Proven track record of collaborating with North American or European companies, preferably in a leadership or market-facing capacity.

• Demonstrated ability in developing and executing go-to-market strategies, as well as leading sales and/or cross-functional teams.

• Experience in managing enterprise sales cycles and engaging in high-stakes negotiations.

• Strong strategic mindset with the capability to operate at both a high level and in a hands-on manner.

• Proficiency in both Japanese and English, along with a comprehensive understanding of Japanese business culture and practices.

• A degree in business, computer science, or a related discipline is preferred.
