This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Accept Command and non-Command referrals and initiate introductory contact with referred Sailors to inform them about the SAIL program.
• Conduct an initial clinical assessment and ongoing risk evaluations utilizing the Columbia Suicide Severity Risk Scale (C-SSRS).
• Work closely with the Sailor’s Command to provide regular updates regarding the Sailor's risk, safety, and recovery progress.
• Deliver clinical case management to Sailors enrolled in SAIL in accordance with established protocols and procedures.
• Ensure that enrolled Sailors are connected to behavioral health professionals and other supportive resources.
• Notify the command when SAIL services conclude and advise on steps to take if the Sailor's risk of suicidal behavior re-emerges.
• Report any suspected child abuse and domestic abuse/violence to local civilian authorities and the Family Advocacy Representative.
• Ensure that Sailors receive an initial evaluation from qualified staff at Military Treatment Facilities or Emergency Departments following any suicidal behavior or ideation.
• Engage in site/regional quarterly quality assurance activities to confirm that all SAIL services delivered are both safe and of high quality.
• Master’s degree in counseling accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs OR a Master’s degree in Social Work accredited by the Council on Social Work Education OR a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Marriage and Family Therapy Education OR a Doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology PLUS a one-year clinical internship accredited by the American Psychological Association.
• Current, valid, and unrestricted clinical license or certification from a state or U.S. territory permitting independent clinical practice in the fields of professional counseling, clinical social work, marriage and family therapy, or clinical/counseling psychology.
• Minimum of two years of full-time, post-master’s supervised clinical experience.
• At least 2 years of experience providing case management to clinical clients.
• A minimum of 1 year of experience delivering clinical services via a telehealth platform.
• At least 6 months of experience managing crises involving suicidal clients and implementing safety plans.
• Minimum of 6 months of experience assessing suicidality risk.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite software.
• Must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of a military installation.
• This position is fully remote and can be supported from any location. However, candidates must be available to work during the specified hours, regardless of their location.
• Candidates must have a dedicated professional workspace that offers a secure, private environment suitable for telehealth clinical services and is free from distractions during work hours.
• SAIL Case Managers are required to maintain current clinical credentials and privileges throughout their tenure.
