This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.
• Collaborate with the Counseling Services Manager to execute a thorough counseling program.
• Work on integrating various aspects of the ASCA national model into the school year's schedule for the counseling team.
• Develop programs aimed at supporting students and families in their social emotional growth.
• Stay informed about all high school graduation requirements, including specific mandates such as end-of-course testing, graduation seals, and other pertinent information from the Ohio Department of Education.
• Assist in ensuring that the OHBCA course selection process meets the needs of students in accordance with state credit and graduation criteria, as well as student interests.
• Collaborate with administrative assistants to confirm the receipt of school records from students' prior institutions (when necessary).
• Support the implementation of the Ohio Graduation Plan for all students.
• Partner with teachers, counselors, and other school personnel to uphold protocols that ensure the safety of OHBCA students and their families.
• Utilize data to pinpoint at-risk students and develop strategies to promote their safety.
• Work alongside school administration to assist students who are struggling academically, particularly those involved in the Academic Probation process.
• Create strategies to assess the effectiveness of annual interventions.
• Ensure that teachers and staff have access to essential resources for supporting students.
• Collaborate with school teams to help families access school and community resources.
• Generate innovative ideas to boost engagement with OHBCA students and their families.
• Remain knowledgeable about ethical standards and all state regulations concerning incident reporting and documentation.
• Assist the counseling team in implementing postsecondary readiness programs, which include Advanced Placement support, SAT and ACT preparation, career technical and college admissions planning, scholarships, financial aid, and financial aid workshops.
• Understand the requirements for administering all high school assessments, including End-of-Course exams, PSAT, SAT, ACT, and AP exams.
• Support professional development initiatives for teachers and school staff.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Valid Ohio School Counselor license.
• Master’s Degree.
• Preferred experience in high school counseling.
• Strong technological proficiency, particularly with Microsoft Office products.
• Exceptional communication abilities, both verbal and written.
• Customer-focused mindset.
• Keen attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• High level of adaptability.
• Team player with proven leadership capabilities.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for marketing and state testing events (may require some overnight travel).
