This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut.
• Prepare, review, and negotiate commercial and governmental agreements, encompassing software, hardware, services, SaaS, subscriptions, licenses, purchases, rentals, leases, master agreements, supply agreements, partnerships, reseller agreements, business associate agreements, and data processing agreements.
• Ensure all contracts adhere to company policies, relevant laws, and regulations.
• Collaborate with internal legal teams on contract language, legal strategies, risk assessments, and regulatory compliance.
• Work closely with sales, product management, finance, operations, and leadership to ensure commercial terms align with company goals.
• Identify, evaluate, and convey contract risks and opportunities, offering actionable recommendations to management.
• Use independent judgment and escalate complex or high-risk issues to the SendTech Contracts Director or Legal Counsel.
• Negotiate directly with external clients and partners to resolve issues and facilitate contract closure.
• Keep organized and precise contract files, correspondence, and database entries.
• Maintain templates, playbooks, and workflow documentation to enhance consistency and efficiency.
• Handle sensitive information responsibly while upholding confidentiality, data integrity, and ethical standards.
• Implement data privacy, security, and compliance principles, including GDPR and CCPA, in SaaS and data processing agreements.
• Occasionally support time-sensitive negotiations or after-hours discussions.
• 5–7 years of experience in contracts management or administration within a corporate legal department or a comparable setting.
• Demonstrated experience in drafting and negotiating complex, client-facing commercial and software/SaaS agreements.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication abilities with a keen attention to detail.
• Capacity to independently manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
• Proficient in articulating legal and commercial risks to senior stakeholders and suggesting practical solutions.
• Poised and diplomatic in negotiating terms and defending key positions under pressure.
• A Bachelor’s degree is required.
• Knowledge of government contracting, including the interpretation of RFPs and the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), is preferred.
• Experience with digital shipping or SaaS business models in technology or logistics sectors is preferred.
• Familiarity with contract lifecycle management systems or e-signature tools such as Salesforce, SharePoint, and DocuSign is preferred.
• Understanding of data privacy and information security aspects in commercial contracts is preferred.
