• Effectively communicate with the content development team, members of the product development cross-functional agile team, and product management personnel.
• Assist in the creation and enhancement of curriculum development user stories.
• Provide consultation and support to teachers in developing and executing curriculum.
• Participate in the development of ELA K-12 courses, including course maps, learning objectives, learning materials, and activities that align with specific state and/or national standards.
• Create and update K-5 ELA curriculum and assessments that are aligned with research-driven literacy instruction.
• Utilize knowledge of the Science of Reading to assess instructional materials, ensuring they align with evidence-based practices and state literacy requirements.
• Collaborate with a cross-functional Agile team to complete projects and features.
• Partner with Product Development managers to guarantee the production of high-quality curricula and resources.
• Suggest and implement innovative working methods or procedures within your area.
• Manage resource negotiations within the team and potentially across teams to establish common goals.
• Foster effective relationships within your area and related departments.
• A Bachelor’s degree is required; a degree in education, curriculum, or a related field is preferred.
• At least 2 years of teaching experience is required, with a preference for virtual learning experience.
• A minimum of 3 years of curriculum development experience is required, with an emphasis on curriculum supporting asynchronous virtual learning preferred.
• Proven experience in developing or teaching K-5 English Language Arts curricula that are closely aligned with the Science of Reading.
• Comprehensive understanding of evidence-based literacy instruction, including structured literacy approaches and early reading development.
• Strong knowledge of English Language Arts instruction across reading, writing, language, and speaking/listening, including genre-based writing and text-dependent analysis.
• Experience in creating ELA curriculum that integrates literacy skills with authentic texts, aligned with grade-level standards and instructional best practices.
• A demonstrated history of meeting deadlines while producing precise, accountable work; highly detail-oriented.
• Proficient in Microsoft® Office, HTML, and able to quickly learn other software and technology platforms.
• Must thrive in a challenging work environment that demands flexibility, self-direction, creativity, and strong communication and organizational skills.
• Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG 2.2 AA) is a plus.
• This position is eligible for participation in an annual incentive program.
