This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Create, shoot, and edit captivating content for various digital and social media platforms.

• Participate in editorial meetings and proactively generate timely, curiosity-driven story concepts that align with the Amazing America brand.

• Collaborate and brainstorm to develop new recurring series, franchise ideas, and platform-specific formats aimed at growing the audience and enhancing the brand.

• Confidently host long-form YouTube content, showcasing engaging storytelling, a strong on-camera presence, and effective audience retention.

• Travel frequently to communities nationwide to discover and report on uniquely American narratives.

• Capture high-quality video and audio in both studio and field settings, often working independently on location.

• Write scripts, interview questions, social media content, and promotional material optimized for specific platforms.

• Research and scout locations and interview subjects, securing all necessary permissions for filming.

• Collaborate with the Publishing Operations/Community Manager to maintain and update the editorial calendar and content pipeline.

• Keep an eye on news, cultural trends, and stories from across the country, including Sinclair’s local stations, to identify compelling individuals, moments, and ideas that can be expressed through Amazing America’s distinctive voice and visual style.

• Work with other digital teams to coordinate joint publishing strategies.

• Analyze social and digital metrics and translate findings into actionable strategies to enhance engagement and content performance.

• Represent the Amazing America brand on camera with authenticity, curiosity, humor, and professionalism.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in writing/producing original content across print, video, and social media.

• At least 3 years of hands-on experience in all facets of video production, including shooting, lighting, sound recording, and editing, with the ability to operate all related equipment (e.g., DSLR or iPhone).

• Exceptional spelling and grammar, a strong grasp of social media trends and platform-specific best practices, vertical video editing skills, and the capability to shoot well-composed videos using a phone.

• Social media expert with extensive knowledge of all platforms including YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, etc., along with a passion for audience analytics.

• Solid understanding of layout and design, with the ability to adhere to brand guidelines to maintain a consistent brand aesthetic across all materials.

• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, Photoshop, etc.) and other creative software.

• Highly collaborative, motivated, exceptionally organized, and possess a uniquely creative mindset.

• Comfortable with ambiguity and adaptability to changes as the team evolves over time.
