This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee observation, monitoring, and documentation of field activities conducted by construction and contracting teams.
• Coordinate and occasionally supervise daily tasks for a diverse group of Field Observers.
• Inspect and document utility, large-scale wind and solar energy, and other energy-related construction initiatives.
• Assist in resolving construction-related issues at the site.
• Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and project management teams.
• Support project staff in fulfilling their responsibilities.
• Monitor and report on project and construction progress and status.
• Engage with owners, project management teams, contractor management teams, owner’s engineers, and utilities.
• Conduct and document regular job safety inspections.
• Ensure compliance with client Quality Control and Quality Assurance programs and safety protocols.
• Report, monitor, and address non-conformance issues related to QA/QC.
• Review and comply with the environmental management plan.
• Post-secondary degree in Engineering or Construction Management, or at least 4 years of equivalent field experience.
• Preferred 5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with utility and/or renewable energy projects, particularly at a utility-scale level.
• Preference for experience in substation and electrical collection installation, or civil, road, and concrete work.
• Capability to work independently.
• Proficient in reading and understanding construction drawings and specifications/manuals.
• Skilled in interpreting construction and procurement contracts.
• Competent in reading and comprehending project schedules and Gantt charts.
• Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office and Procore.
• Familiar with GIS database systems and applications.
• Strong interpersonal skills, including conflict negotiation/resolution and stakeholder engagement.
• Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with owners’ representatives, contractors, vendors, and others.
• Willingness to work approximately 100% in the field, including nights, weekends, and over 40 hours per week.
• Must have authorization for permanent work in the U.S.
