This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.
• The Construction Estimator is tasked with evaluating construction drawings, specifications, and project documentation to create precise cost estimates and competitive bids for commercial construction projects.
• Assess architectural drawings, specifications, and addenda to ascertain the complete project scope.
• Interpret construction documents such as finish schedules, elevations, sections, and detailed drawings.
• Recognize scope requirements, exclusions, and possible risk factors within the bid documents.
• Monitor and incorporate updates from addenda and revised plan sets.
• Execute accurate digital quantity takeoffs from construction drawings.
• Measure areas of floors, walls, and vertical surfaces for materials including tile, stone, and associated finish materials.
• Calculate material quantities such as square footage, linear footage, trim pieces, waterproofing systems, and accessory components.
• Confirm takeoff quantities against architectural finish schedules.
• Create comprehensive cost estimates encompassing labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor expenses.
• Utilize company labor production rates to estimate installation times and labor costs.
• Request and assess pricing from suppliers and vendors.
• Develop cost breakdowns and estimate summaries for internal evaluation.
• Prepare bid proposals in line with project bidding instructions.
• Ensure that scope coverage is consistent with contract documents and specifications.
• Maintain well-organized estimate files that include takeoffs, assumptions, clarifications, and exclusions.
• Engage in internal bid review meetings prior to submission.
• Collaborate with project managers and leadership to review estimate assumptions.
• Identify opportunities for potential value engineering.
• Provide estimate breakdowns and documentation for project handoff upon project award.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in construction estimating.
• Strong capability to read and interpret architectural and construction drawings.
• Proficient in performing digital quantity takeoffs from construction plans.
• Experience in reviewing project specifications and finish schedules.
• Background in preparing detailed construction cost estimates.
• Excellent analytical and mathematical abilities.
• High level of attention to detail and precision.
• Candidates should have experience with one or more digital takeoff platforms: Measure Square, PlanSwift, On-Screen Takeoff, Bluebeam Revu, or Stack Takeoff.
• Additional technical skills preferred: proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets for cost analysis and estimate formatting, familiarity with construction document management platforms like Procore, BuildingConnected, or similar bidding platforms, and knowledge of CSI MasterFormat divisions and construction specifications.
