Construction Estimator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Examine project drawings, specifications, bid packages, and contract documents.

• Create precise and comprehensive cost estimates.

• Evaluate, confirm, and benchmark pricing from contractors and subcontractors.

• Offer cost advisory services from the owner's perspective.

• Assist owners and stakeholders in making financial decisions by providing cost breakdowns.

• Employ industry-standard cost data and tools to enhance estimates.

• Conduct quantity take-offs and perform cost analysis.

• Request, assess, and standardize proposals from subcontractors and suppliers.

• Oversee or assist in bid leveling and aligning scopes.

• Prepare and present summaries of estimates and detailed cost breakdowns.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a closely related field (preferred).

• Over seven (7+) years of experience in construction estimating, particularly with large commercial or institutional projects valued at $50 million or more.

• Proven experience collaborating with or supporting project owners, owner representatives, or developer-led initiatives.

• Established capability to analyze and validate pricing from contractors and subcontractors on behalf of an owner or client.

• Competence in using estimating tools and software, including RS Means (required).

• Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to accuracy and detail.

• Capacity to work independently in a remote setting while effectively managing multiple priorities.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience in presenting to owner stakeholders or executive teams.
