Conservation Real Estate Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee, manage, and finalize land protection initiatives and transactions that further TNC’s Southern High Plains Initiative.

• Utilize conservation easements, fee title acquisitions, and Purchase, Protect, Resell projects to safeguard grasslands, habitats for rare and declining species, and productive rangelands.

• Collaborate directly with ranching families, private landowners, Tribal Nations, and federal, state, and local governments, as well as land trust partners and conservation organizations.

• Independently spearhead intricate land protection projects throughout Colorado, Kansas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas.

• Negotiate complex agreements effectively.

• Manage various projects and timelines simultaneously.

• Establish partnerships with landowners, governmental agencies, conservation organizations, and community groups.

• Create and maintain written narratives for grant proposals, communications with funders, and project presentations.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in law, business, or a related field, accompanied by 3 years of experience in land conservation, real estate, natural resource management, or a related area, or a comparable mix of education and experience.

• Familiarity with land acquisition principles.

• Proven experience in negotiating complex agreements.

• Ability to manage multiple projects and timelines efficiently.

• Experience in developing partnerships with landowners, government entities, conservation organizations, or community groups.

• Proficient in crafting and maintaining compelling written narratives for grant proposals, funder communications, and project presentations.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and web browsers.

• Valid driver's license required.

• Adherence to TNC’s Auto Safety Program.

• Completion of a Vehicle Use Agreement, which may include a review of motor vehicle records.

• Successful completion of TNC’s background screening process.
