This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Under the specific guidance of the Sr Mgr β Composite Repair Services, responsible for maintaining assets, which includes internal and external inspections, as well as the repair of fiberglass and composite blades, spinners, and nacelles across Categories 1 to 5.
β’ Expected to travel for extended durations to work on EDF Renewable Energy projects as required.
β’ When not on travel, will be stationed at the designated home site and will receive direction from the Site Manager there.
β’ While representing EDF Renewable Energy/Renewable Services during travel, you are anticipated to embody our organization's core values at all times.
β’ Conduct inspections and photograph internal and external blade damages utilizing the blade card, document the findings, and compile all necessary paperwork for submission to the Engineering Department for further action.
β’ Execute composite repairs on both internal and external blade surfaces, including leading and trailing edge repairs, adhering to the guidelines specified in the Work Instructions.
β’ Provide wind turbine generator Lock Out & Tag Out (LOTO) support as needed.
β’ Perform "status" checks, which include clearing "error" codes on turbines and addressing any issues that arise.
β’ Utilize blade access platforms, boom trucks, and rope access at heights exceeding 300 feet.
β’ May assist in or conduct basic quality audits of less experienced personnel and third-party customer work.
β’ Communicate the site status to back-office Management and Local Customer Site Personnel as well.
β’ Completion of EDF-RS Composite Key Fundamentals Training.
β’ Have obtained 8 or more hours of on-the-job training from a Senior or Advanced Composite Repair Technician.
β’ Documented all knowledge and skills acquired from EDF-RS internal and external blade training on form OM-13-5 101.
β’ Capable of inspecting and reporting uncomplicated surface damage.
β’ Able to perform minor cosmetic repairs that do not impact the blade's profile and structure for a minimum of one blade repair season under the supervision of a Senior or Advanced Composite Repair Technician, such as surface repairs in the paint and gel-coat layer less than 3ftΒ².
β’ Conduct leading edge repairs that do not alter the blade's profile, up to 40 inches in length.
β’ Assist in the LPS function test.
β’ Minimum of 2 years of related experience or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
β’ Completion of Abaris Wind Blade Repair R-5 / Abaris Advanced Tooling Repair.
