Compliance, Security, AI Governance Analyst

📋 Description

• Oversee the daily operations of the organization's compliance and AI governance program within a regulated, government-facing context.

• Concentrate on converting regulatory, cybersecurity, AI governance, and audit obligations into practical internal procedures.

• Manage audit readiness, maintain necessary documentation, and ensure consistent compliance alignment.

• Collaborate closely with the CTO, Cloud Hosting Manager, Engineering, and Security stakeholders to facilitate secure operations, responsible AI usage, and compliance with relevant regulatory frameworks and data protection standards.

• Analyze regulatory, contractual, cybersecurity, and AI governance requirements (such as SOC 2, CJIS, NIST-based controls, ISO 27001, AI governance standards, and state/local regulations) into internal tasks and control activities.

• Oversee audit readiness initiatives, which include evidence collection, organization, validation, and tracking remediation efforts.

• Act as the primary internal contact for auditors; assist with external audit processes, security assessments, and subsequent activities.

• Continuously update and maintain policies, procedures, control narratives, risk assessments, AI governance documentation, and compliance records.

• Monitor compliance status, findings, risks, and remediation efforts; ensure prompt resolution of any identified gaps.

• Work alongside Hosting, Engineering, Security, and Product teams to confirm the implementation of security, privacy, and AI-related controls.

• Provide governance and oversight for AI-related processes, including data management, model use, vendor evaluations, and responsible AI practices.

• Aid in identifying and alleviating cybersecurity, privacy, and AI-related operational risks.

• Raise concerns regarding ambiguous, high-risk, or non-compliant requirements and coordinate resolution efforts.

• Assist with vendor compliance reviews, security questionnaires, and documentation requests concerning third-party risks as necessary.

• Help maintain control mappings across various compliance and security frameworks.

• Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of compliance, information security, and AI governance processes.


⛳️ Requirements

• 3–7+ years of experience in compliance, risk management, cybersecurity governance, audit coordination, or a similar role.

• Proficient understanding of at least one compliance framework (SOC 2, NIST, CJIS, ISO 27001, or comparable).

• Familiarity with cybersecurity governance principles, access controls, data protection practices, and risk management methodologies.

• Preferred background in AI governance, responsible AI practices, data privacy issues, or emerging AI regulatory requirements.

• Experience in supporting audits (either internal or external), including evidence collection and interaction with auditors.

• Excellent documentation skills; capable of generating clear, structured policies, procedures, and governance documentation.

• Ability to interpret technical and regulatory requirements and convert them into operational tasks and controls.

• Comfortable collaborating across functions with technical, security, and operational teams.

• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and follow-through capabilities.

• Experience in government, the public sector, healthcare, or other regulated environments is preferred.

• Familiarity with multiple frameworks or control mapping activities is preferred.

• Knowledge of compliance and security tools (e.g., Vanta, Drata, Wiz, Microsoft Purview, Defender, or similar platforms) is preferred.

• Experience in supporting cloud security governance in Azure or AWS environments is preferred.

• Understanding of AI security, data governance, or vendor risk management practices related to AI-enabled solutions is preferred.
