This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio, +1 more state.
β’ Oversee all aspects of intricate commercial litigation with considerable independence.
β’ Perform factual investigations.
β’ Manage the discovery process.
β’ Draft pleadings and motions.
β’ Conduct and defend depositions.
β’ Participate in settlement discussions.
β’ Interact directly with clients.
β’ Contribute to and help expand a partner-led practice that caters to clients in technology, manufacturing, and transportation sectors.
β’ Address labor and employment litigation cases as a secondary focus.
β’ Aim for a billable target of 1,900 hours.
β’ 3β7 years of experience in commercial litigation, with a preference for around 4β6 years.
β’ Proven expertise in commercial litigation involving discovery, motions, depositions, and settlement negotiations.
β’ Current position at a well-regarded law firm, preferably mid-sized or large.
β’ J.D. with strong academic qualifications.
β’ Must currently be a resident of Michigan or Ohio.
β’ Must possess an active bar license in the state of residence.
β’ Preference for candidates who are licensed in both Michigan and Ohio.
β’ Preference for candidates with pure commercial litigation experience over those focused primarily on niche environmental or regulatory practices.
β’ Ability to manage cases with a high level of independence.
β’ Self-motivated and proactive; comfortable with minimal in-person supervision.
β’ Ability to operate during Eastern Time hours.
β’ Experience in labor and employment litigation is preferred.
β’ Experience at a recognized regional, national, or AmLaw firm is preferred.
β’ Experience in direct client communication is essential.
β’ Preference for dual bar admission in Michigan and Ohio.
β’ Visa sponsorship is not available.
