Commercial Facilities Maintenance Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Accountable for the timely, effective, and efficient delivery of the Company’s services to various customers within a specified geographic area.

• Provided with a company van and tools, traveling to multiple customer locations to maintain commercial properties.

• Executes preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on buildings, equipment, and grounds.

• Engages in direct “face to face” communication with Customers to address their service needs.

• Employs various trade skills, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, painting, roofing, HVAC, and others to resolve maintenance issues.

• Completes preventative maintenance and repairs in accordance with work order specifications.

• Performs duties independently while adhering to company procedures, regulatory standards, and safety protocols.

• Conducts minor plumbing maintenance on existing systems (e.g., unclogging toilets and drains, repairing leaks in drains and faucets, replacing toilets and faucet fixtures as needed, etc.).

• Undertakes routine painting and carpentry tasks as needed to keep our Client’s facilities in like-new condition (e.g., repairing holes in drywall, preparing areas, and matching paint for a uniform appearance).

• Responsible for minor electrical maintenance as permitted by state law, including repair or replacement of fixtures, wall switches, and outlets, as well as changing light bulbs, ballasts, and sockets when necessary.

• Conducts service inspections and asset inspections as required.

• Fully leverages technology (tablet, smartphone) to: access and complete work orders, including notes on services provided; create and submit Service Reports and Quality Inspection images; and submit timesheets, expense reports, and purchase card logs.

• Acquires necessary materials and supplies to fulfill all tasks, fostering a positive atmosphere with clients and ensuring customer satisfaction. Maintains timely and consistent communication with clients and internal support teams.

• Completes all mandatory EFS safety and compliance training and participates in weekly safety meetings.

• Provides estimates for larger projects and services requested by on-site customers, and undertakes additional duties as assigned or required.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School diploma or Degree/Certification, or equivalent professional experience in Landscaping, Trades (Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, etc.), or Specialty Floor Care, preferred.

• Two (2) to Five (5) years of mechanical experience, including electrical, plumbing, and carpentry is required; or a comparable combination of training, education, and experience.

• Any combination of education, training, and experience demonstrating the ability to perform the duties and responsibilities outlined, including relevant work experience in one or more building trades.

• Previous experience in the landscape, janitorial, or construction-related service industries is highly preferred.

• Must hold applicable certifications, licenses, and a valid driver’s license in good standing.

• Capability to read and understand instructions, including safety policies and procedure manuals.

• Ability to compose routine reports and correspondence.

• Proficient in effectively presenting information in both individual and small group situations.

• Complete assigned work orders promptly and communicate work order status through designated business processes.
