College Counselor – Part-Time
Posted May 9

Posted May 9
This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• In your role as a part-time Collegewise counselor, you will manage a caseload of over 12 students, primarily juniors and seniors, while also engaging with underclassmen as needed.
• You will foster individual relationships, provide guidance to students outside of school hours and in their respective time zones, and may occasionally work weekends during the peak fall season.
• Your support will extend to both students and their families, collaborating with colleagues who do not prioritize US News & World Report college rankings.
• Part-time counselors generally dedicate 10 to 20 hours weekly to student interactions, varying based on the season and caseload size. Counseling sessions are compensated at $75 per hour, while administrative and non-counseling tasks are billed at $35 per hour.
• You engage with students across all grade levels, not solely seniors. Freshmen and sophomores have distinct perspectives, needs, and require a tailored rapport.
• You possess an understanding of family dynamics, not just student needs. Collaborating with parents—whether they are anxious, skeptical, or difficult to reach—is an essential aspect of this position.
• You are inherently a project manager, adept at steering processes, monitoring deadlines, and ensuring that no details are overlooked for over 12 students simultaneously.
• You are comfortable navigating changing systems and embracing ongoing learning opportunities.
• Sick leave that accumulates as you work—earning 1 hour of sick time for every 30 hours worked, up to a maximum of 80 hours, with the benefit rolling over year to year.
• 401(k) plan with company matching—you become eligible after completing one year of service and working 1,000 hours within that timeframe; for every dollar you contribute (up to 5% of your salary), Collegewise contributes an additional 33 cents.
• NACAC membership—upon request, we will cover your membership with the National Association for College Admission Counseling.
• Professional development—gain access to Collegewise's internal learning and development programming, training resources, and ongoing support.
