This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Perform documentation and coding evaluations to ensure adherence to established coding standards, as well as federal and state regulations and Essentia’s Coding Quality Review policy.
• Document reviews for APC, ICD-9-CM, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS, and CPT codes to assess overall coding and charge capture accuracy.
• Identify gaps in documentation and education.
• Mentor, train, and provide continuous feedback and education to the hospital outpatient coding team.
• Collaborate closely with the Coding Manager and Outpatient Coding Supervisor to assist outpatient coders.
• An associate's degree in a healthcare or business-related field along with 3 years of coding experience, or a bachelor's degree in a healthcare or business-related field with 2 years of coding experience.
• Certification/Licensure Requirements: RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC-H, or CPC.
