Cloud Platform Engineering and Operations Manager, Azure, Dynamics

📋 Description

• Provide leadership and technical direction to a global team of 6 cloud engineers, fostering a culture focused on proactive continuous improvement through automation and AI.

• Enhance Developer Experience by achieving feature equivalence with GCP; transform manual Azure processes into automated workflows utilizing the project Chassis framework and AI.

• Manage daily operations for a global platform team, implementing a 'follow-the-sun' support model across North America (NA) and Asia-Pacific (AP) regions.

• Supervise incident response and escalation processes, ensuring the team meets or surpasses MTT(x) targets.

• Establish and maintain the Azure/Dynamics platform strategy and roadmap within Jira; ensure compliance with Jira practices and PI planning.

• Conduct financial forecasting and evaluations for Azure and Dynamics; oversee Microsoft licensing/pricing (PAYG/RI), cost calculators, and cost alerts.

• Strengthen platform security by addressing NIST violations and ensuring standards are upheld by deploying custom Azure policies to prevent non-compliant infrastructure.

• Enhance team skills in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) and DevOps principles; actively promote the integration of Copilot and AI/Agentic solutions.

• Support customers with onboarding and respond to technical inquiries regarding the Dynamics platform.

• Define and document backup strategies for Azure-hosted solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field.

• Strong leadership capabilities, ideally with 3+ years of demonstrated leadership experience.

• Experience overseeing teams in a 24x7 global support environment and participating in on-call rotations.

• Proven track record of taking ownership in projects, successfully driving tasks to completion through PI planning and agile methodologies.

• 5+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure & service management and administration (Azure; experience with AWS or GCP is advantageous).

• In-depth knowledge of NIST Security Standards and remediation strategies.

• Solid understanding of Microsoft Entra (formerly Azure AD), including Roles, API Permission grants, Elevated Permissions, and Privileged Identity Management (PIM).

• Experience in implementing and managing Azure Policy at scale.

• Proficient in Terraform, ARM templates, Go (Golang), PowerShell, and Python.

• Familiarity with fundamental AI principles and best practices.
