Cloud & IT Infrastructure Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Deploy, manage, and optimize cloud virtual machines (Azure Virtual Desktop and/or AWS WorkSpaces) for over 60 remote contractors across India, Egypt, and the Philippines.

• Take ownership of on/offboarding processes, access provisioning, monitoring, and incident response.

• Design the virtual machine estate as we expand, including platform selection (AWS vs Azure) and cost optimization strategies.

• Manage the core treatment planning application utilized by our design team from start to finish: server performance, database administration, disk space management, version updates, and multi-server architecture as we scale.

• Create runbooks and escalation paths to ensure that daily application issues are resolved without requiring senior engineers as the sole escalation point.

• Collaborate directly with the software vendor on scaling and architectural decisions.

• Enroll and oversee all company laptops through Microsoft Intune MDM, enforcing encryption, antivirus, and patch compliance.

• Administer user accounts, licenses, single sign-on (SSO), and security settings throughout the organization.

• Serve as the primary IT support contact for 40 staff members in London and over 60 remote contractors.

• Manage account creation, access provisioning, and tool permissions for all new hires and departing employees.

• Support 32Co's Information Security Management System (ISMS) and compliance programs for GDPR, ISO 27001, and HIPAA.

• Handle patching, monitoring, licensing management, and capacity planning across all systems.

⛳️ Requirements

• 4-7 years of experience in IT infrastructure, cloud operations, or a similar field—preferably within a high-growth startup or scale-up environment.

• Hands-on experience with cloud virtual machine environments: Azure Virtual Desktop, AWS WorkSpaces, or comparable platforms.

• Proven experience administering Microsoft Intune MDM and Google Workspace at an organizational level.

• Comfortable independently managing a complete IT function—helpdesk, device management, access control, and vendor relations.

• Possesses a systems thinking and automation mindset—your instinct after resolving a problem is "how can I automate this to avoid manual intervention in the future?"

• Comfortable navigating ambiguity and making sound decisions without extensive specifications.

• Enthusiastic about leveraging AI as a practical tool for automating workflows, creating internal bots, or minimizing repetitive tasks.

• Excellent spoken and written English; able to communicate effectively with non-technical stakeholders.

• Available for substantial overlap with UK working hours—approximately 6am-3pm UK time.
