Cloud Engineer II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Deliver technical support and troubleshooting for Azure cloud services, showcasing a comprehensive understanding of Azure VMs, including provisioning, configuration, and optimization.

• Possess extensive knowledge and practical experience with Azure Subscription, Azure Network, Azure Active Directory, ExpressRoute, Compute, storage, Alerts, and Hyper-V.

• Hands-on experience in managing daily operations of Azure and Azure Stack Hub-hosted workloads on both Windows and Linux platforms.

• Diverse experience in overseeing Windows OS virtual machines, including patching, backup, and other OS support activities encompassing L1 and L2 issue troubleshooting.

• Proficient in utilizing Azure native tools such as Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Log Analytics workspace, Azure Policy, Azure Update, and Azure Security Center.

• Configure and oversee Azure Logic Apps for workflow automation, integrating with various Azure services and external systems.

• Deploy and manage container applications and container app jobs while managing Infrastructure as Code (IAC) using Terraform.

• Implement and maintain monitoring solutions like Azure Monitor and Azure Log Analytics to monitor system performance, identify trends, and proactively resolve issues.

• Experience managing Azure Entra ID, Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), Privileged Identity Management (PIM), Conditional Access Policies, and Managed Identities.

• Manage Azure Backup, Recovery Services Vault, and Azure Site Recovery (ASR) for replication and recovery operations.

• Basic understanding of Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), including cluster monitoring, node pools, scaling, and troubleshooting.

• Troubleshoot Azure networking components such as Network Security Groups (NSGs), Application Gateway, Load Balancers, VPN Gateways, Private DNS Zones, and Private Link.

• Address escalated incidents and service requests from Level 1 support teams, diagnosing and resolving issues related to Azure cloud services and infrastructure.

• Perform system administration tasks on Linux and Windows servers, including the installation, configuration, and maintenance of software and applications.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure solutions that fulfill business requirements.

• Monitor system performance, capacity, and availability using monitoring tools, implementing proactive measures to enhance performance and prevent downtime.

• Participate in an on-call rotation schedule to provide after-hours support and address critical incidents.

• Document procedures, configurations, and best practices to maintain an up-to-date knowledge base and facilitate knowledge sharing within the team.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

• Over 5 years of experience in a similar role, focusing on supporting Azure cloud environments.

• Strong comprehension of Azure services including Azure VMs, Azure Logic Apps, Azure networking, Azure Monitor, Azure Log Analytics, container apps, and container app jobs.

• Proficiency in Linux and Windows system administration, including PowerShell scripting.

• Experience with configuration management tools such as Terraform and Ansible is preferred.

• Excellent problem-solving capabilities and the ability to independently troubleshoot complex technical issues.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
