This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Enhance and uphold highly available, secure, and scalable AWS cloud environments and services.
• Manage and prioritize tasks within the cloud infrastructure backlog to meet immediate needs and plan for long-term enhancements.
• Establish infrastructure monitoring and observability solutions, proactively addressing issues related to availability, performance, or security.
• Familiarize yourself with the current infrastructure and take charge of daily cloud operational tasks and activities.
• Evaluate new technologies, systems, and services for production readiness, ensuring smooth and stable integration.
• Create and maintain documentation on cloud processes, procedures, and architectures to promote clear understanding and team-wide awareness.
• Implement AWS Well-Architected Framework principles to assess and optimize our existing infrastructure.
• Participate in out-of-office hour cloud deployments once or twice a month.
• Conduct POCs (proof of concepts) on new AWS services, third-party tools, and technologies to facilitate continuous improvement in our infrastructure.
• A demonstrated entrepreneurial and collaborative mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• A university degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of hands-on experience with AWS cloud services in a professional environment.
• Proficiency with core AWS services, including IAM, S3, KMS, RDS, VPC, ECS, EC2, and more.
• Experience managing multi-account and multi-region AWS production environments and utilizing IaaC for management.
• Strong hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, preferably Terraform.
• Proficiency in one or more scripting languages, such as Python, Bash, or Node.js.
• Good understanding of cloud security principles and services, such as AWS WAF, GuardDuty, Config, and CloudTrail.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools, preferably GitLab.
• Experience with software version control and Git.
• Strong grasp of cloud networking concepts, including VPC, VPC Peering, Subnets, and Load Balancing.
• Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools for cloud environments, such as Grafana, Prometheus, OpenSearch, and the ELK stack.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to challenges.
• A genuine interest in keeping abreast of new AWS services and features, integrating advancements into the cloud environment.
• Ability to thrive in a flexible, startup environment, taking the initiative to establish new processes as needed.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Good listening skills.
• Familiarity with industry best practices in cloud architecture principles.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
• Availability to work during Central European Time (CET) business hours.
