This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Bulgaria.
• Design, implement, and manage virtualized infrastructure platforms.
• Support and enhance compute, storage, and backup systems.
• Diagnose performance, availability, and capacity challenges throughout the environment.
• Collaborate with internal teams on migrations, upgrades, and onboarding clients.
• Ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of cloud services.
• Construct and manage VMware-based environments (vSphere, ESXi, and related ecosystem components).
• Support and oversee converged/hyper-converged platforms (Cisco UCS, Dell VxRail, Cisco HyperFlex).
• Design and manage storage solutions, including Fibre Channel and iSCSI architectures, zoning and fabric design, block, file, and object storage, data reduction technologies (deduplication, compression), snapshots, replication, and recovery strategies.
• Conduct capacity planning and performance optimization across compute and storage layers.
• Resolve complex infrastructure issues involving virtualization, storage, and networking.
• Support backup and disaster recovery solutions, ensuring workload recoverability.
• Engage in infrastructure migrations, potentially transitioning platforms (e.g., VMware to alternatives).
• Document configurations, procedures, and runbooks.
• Participate in a rotating on-call schedule (approximately one full week every 3–4 weeks) to assist production environments and address critical incidents.
• Flexibility in work hours, including occasional after-hours or weekend work, to facilitate maintenance activities, deployments, or incident responses.
• Strong practical experience with VMware (vSphere / ESXi, VMware Cloud Director, and NSX-T) in production settings.
• Experience with enterprise computing platforms (Cisco UCS, Dell VxRail, HyperFlex).
• In-depth knowledge of storage architecture, including Fibre Channel and/or iSCSI, zoning, and SAN design, as well as block and file storage systems (e.g., PowerScale/Isilon, CIFS/SMB).
• Familiarity with replication, snapshots, and data lifecycle management.
• Proven capability to troubleshoot performance and stability issues across infrastructure layers.
• Experience in capacity planning and infrastructure optimization.
• Ability to function effectively in production, multi-tenant environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a practical, solution-focused approach.
• Proven track record of working independently, taking ownership, and driving issues to resolution.
• Solid working knowledge of Windows Server and Active Directory, including administration, troubleshooting, and integration with enterprise infrastructure services (authentication, DNS, Group Policy).
• Experience with backup and recovery platforms: Veeam, Dell EMC IDPA / Avamar / PowerProtect, VMware Cloud Director Availability.
• Familiarity with XenServer (Citrix Hypervisor).
• Working knowledge of Hyper-V environments, particularly System Center VMM.
• Exposure to object storage platforms.
• Experience in multi-tenant or service provider environments.
• Scripting/automation experience (PowerShell preferred).
• Working knowledge of Linux-based operating systems, including CLI usage and basic troubleshooting of system, networking, and service-related issues.
