This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.
• Act as a consultant and specialist for healthcare providers, enhancing the precision of clinical documentation to reflect patient complexity, risk profiles, and suitable E/M levels.
• Support providers in pinpointing clinically significant information and gathering the clinical documentation required to accurately depict patient acuity.
• Concentrate on recognizing and recapturing chronic conditions indicated in Hierarchical Condition Categories (HCCs).
• Perform pre-visit and post-claim reviews while delivering clear communication and education to providers regarding their documentation, coding, and billing practices.
• Collaborate with colleagues from the CDI Program and other organizational members to provide education and training aimed at enhancing clinical documentation.
• High School Diploma or GED (Required)
• Associate's Degree (Preferred)
• Over 3 years of experience in Coding and/or clinical documentation integrity (Required)
• In-depth clinical knowledge and understanding of pathophysiology (Required proficiency)
• Strong critical thinking abilities and the application of clinical knowledge to identify potential clinical indicators that support patient acuity and clarify medical records (Required proficiency)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills (Required proficiency)
• Proficient project management skills (Required proficiency)
• Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrating successful communication with all organizational levels (Required proficiency)
• Capability to work independently in a time-sensitive environment (Required proficiency)
• Demonstrates adeptness and comfort with electronic medical records (EPIC preferred) (Required proficiency)
• Proficient in personal computer applications (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) (Required proficiency)
• Ability to create educational materials that are meaningful for providers and team members (Required proficiency)
• Strong problem-solving and investigative abilities (Required proficiency)
• Maintains strict confidentiality of all patient, employee, and physician information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
