This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +1 more state.
• Responsible for maintaining the clinical integrity, safety, and sensitivity of a data collection initiative aimed at assessing the effectiveness of mental health and suicide prevention services for the Veterans Health Administration (VHA).
• Ensure that all operational protocols, staff training programs, and crisis escalation procedures are implemented with clinical empathy and in accordance with VHA standards.
• Supervise the training of personnel on relevant mental health topics; develop and ensure compliance with crisis protocols; and provide clinical support for staff conducting interviews.
• Design, implement, and enforce standardized operating procedures (SOPs) for identifying respondents who are in acute distress.
• Oversee adherence to the standardized VHA protocol for connecting Veterans in crisis with the Veterans Crisis Line (VCL).
• Conduct post-incident evaluations of any crisis escalations to confirm that protocols were followed and to facilitate continuous improvement efforts.
• Create and deliver training modules for all call center personnel focusing on mental health conditions such as PTSD, depression, and anxiety.
• Offer real-time and scheduled clinical support to interviewers handling challenging conversations.
• Collaborate with the Contract Manager and Quality Assurance Team to review audio recordings of sensitive calls, providing clinical insights and coaching.
• A minimum of a bachelor’s degree with relevant work experience in a field related to mental health, such as psychology, psychiatry, social work, or counseling.
• Must possess an active, unrestricted independent clinical license in a behavioral health discipline in at least one U.S. state or territory (e.g., LCSW/LICSW, LPC/LCPC/LMHC, LMFT, licensed clinical psychologist, or psychiatrist).
• Extensive relevant work experience in a field directly related to mental health, specifically psychology, psychiatry, social work, or counseling is required.
• Must successfully clear a comprehensive Federal background check prior to engaging with any Veteran data or supervising staff.
• Completion of VA Talent Management System (TMS) training in Information Security and HIPAA, along with the CITI PROGRAM training in human subjects protection, is mandatory.
• Prior clinical experience working directly with the Veteran population or within the VHA system is preferred.
• Familiarity with Computer Assisted Telephone Interviewing (CATI) environments and managing clinical standards within high-volume contact centers is preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in designing crisis escalation pathways for remote or telephonic care environments is preferred.
