This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +3 more states.
• Developing clinical trial plans (designing, collaborating on operational strategies, etc.) aligned with the clinical development strategy.
• Providing medical oversight and overall management of current or new clinical trials for investigational or marketed pharmaceuticals.
• Evaluating and summarizing clinical findings from studies to inform decisions regarding safety and efficacy, as well as new drug applications, clinical study reports, or publications.
• Engaging in both internal and collaborative internal/external research project teams related to the development of new compounds and further studies on marketed compounds.
• Assisting in business development evaluations of external opportunities.
• Actively collaborating with other functional areas to support the execution of studies.
• Working closely with a diverse group of experts in commercialization, regulatory affairs, statistics, and manufacturing to oversee clinical development initiatives.
• Aiding the team in keeping other colleagues updated on the progress of studies related to the company and competitors' drugs.
• Offering expert opinions, both internally and externally, on pertinent scientific inquiries within their area of responsibility.
• Staying informed about scientific advancements in their field of expertise.
• Identifying scientifically and operationally proficient investigators who can aid in the development of the company’s investigational and marketed drugs.
• Establishing communication with leading clinical investigators in their specific field of interest.
• Participating in relevant scientific meetings to maintain competency and stay aware of research activities.
• M.D. or M.D./Ph.D.
• At least 3 years of clinical medicine experience.
• A minimum of 1 year of industry experience in ophthalmology drug development or biomedical research experience in academia focused on ophthalmology.
• A proven record of scientific scholarship and achievement.
• Demonstrated success in clinical medicine along with a background in biomedical research.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with effective presentation abilities.
• Board Certified or Eligible in ophthalmology or a related discipline (Preferred).
