This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• Oversee all aspects of nutrition care, which includes nutrition assessment, care planning, monitoring, education, and counseling for both hospitalized patients and outpatients across diverse settings.
• Execute responsibilities in alignment with performance improvement plans, JCAHO, and various licensing, accrediting, and regulatory organizations.
• Assess, interpret, monitor, and document the nutritional status and requirements of inpatients and outpatients, adhering to established care standards and practice guidelines.
• Recognize and deliver age-specific nutrition counseling to cater to the cultural needs of patients and their families.
• Create, review, update, and implement educational materials to fulfill the needs of both patients and healthcare professionals.
• Write orders for diet, supplements, enteral/parenteral nutrition, and laboratory data following hospital policy.
• Act as a vital member of the clinical interdisciplinary team.
• Maintain Registered Dietitian (RD) status, including continuous professional education as required by the Professional Development Portfolio.
• Hold licensure from the North Carolina Board of Nutrition and Dietetics.
• Mentor dietetic interns and provide training for newly hired clinical staff.
• Oversee the daily activities of dietetic technicians (registered), providing input for evaluations without directly assessing their performance.
• Adhere to Nutrition Services meeting and attendance expectations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Food and Nutrition, Dietetics, Nutritional Sciences, Human Nutrition, or a related field.
• Successful completion of a coordinated program or dietetic internship comprising no less than 900 hours under the supervision of a Registered Dietitian.
• At least one (1) year of outpatient nutrition experience is highly preferred.
• Level I - One year in an acute care setting is preferred; experience may be waived for specific roles.
• Level II and Level III - A minimum of 5 years of clinical experience or at least 3 years of clinical experience along with an approved nutrition-related certification.
• Registered Dietitian (RD) credential from the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
• Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist (LDN) from the North Carolina Board of Dietetics and Nutrition; provision for license-eligible dietitians as stated above.
• CEDRD/CEDRD-S, CNSC, CSSD, or CSP certification is preferred.
• This position qualifies for a $5,000 commitment bonus.
