• Ensure alignment between client expectations and the actual deliverables from Very
• Proactively escalate issues with suggestions — prevent problems from becoming unexpected
• Take responsibility for the profitability of your projects — grasp margin, oversee burn rates, and flag risks in advance
• Draft and negotiate Statements of Work for new phases and follow-on projects
• Recognize and pursue expansion opportunities within existing accounts
• Engage in the sales process for new prospects — Very's top Engagement Leads contribute to commercial efforts
• Responsible for the overall health of delivery on your projects — encompassing scope, timing, and quality

• For smaller projects (≤ $250–400K, single workstream, small team): manage the cadence independently — including standups, sprint planning, and milestone reviews
• For larger projects: collaborate with a PM who handles execution; focus on steering, scope management, and client strategy
• Mentor team members on working within a client services organization — including communication, expectation management, and escalation
• Exemplify the standard for client engagement at Very
• Over 5 years of experience in client services, technical program management, or a delivery-focused role in a technology consulting or product organization
• Proven experience in managing client relationships — not merely supporting them
• Capacity to independently write and negotiate Statements of Work
• Experience overseeing project budgets and financial metrics
• Outstanding communication skills — written, verbal, and in-person; capable of presenting to executives and navigating challenging conversations
• Technical fluency adequate to gain respect from engineering teams and convert client requirements into actionable scope (coding is not necessary, but you should comprehend what you are selling and delivering)

• Background in electronics hardware, firmware, or embedded systems product development is highly preferred
• History of direct interaction with contract manufacturers
• Experience in a pre-sales or solutions engineering role
• At least 3 years in a consultancy or client services setting
• 401(k) matching
• $250/month stipend for cell phone and internet

• Paid parental leave (95th percentile in the U.S.)
