Claims Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Receives Workers’ Compensation claims, verifies policy coverage, and acknowledges the claim.

• Assesses the validity and compensability of the claim.

• Establishes reserves and authorizes payments within the limits of reserving authority.

• Oversees non-complex lost-time workers’ compensation claims under close supervision.

• Communicates claim status to the customer, claimant, and client.

• Follows client and carrier guidelines and participates in claims reviews as needed.

• Supports other claims professionals with more complex or challenging claims as required.

• Engages in additional projects and responsibilities as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or a combination of education and relevant experience.

• At least 1 year of industry experience, with a preference for claims management experience.

• A current license or certification in Workers’ Compensation must be maintained throughout employment with CorVel.
