Claims Property Field Catastrophe (CAT) Representative

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Investigating, assessing, and negotiating settlements for assigned property claims.

• Responds to CAT deployment directives, including weekends.

• Travels to areas affected by catastrophes to appraise, negotiate, and resolve personal and commercial property claims.

• Conduct both onsite and virtual inspections of damages.

• Document all activities related to claims to support the claim file.

• Achieve a high level of policyholder satisfaction by adhering to established service standards.

• Clarify coverage of loss and assist policyholders with their damages.

• Collaborate with and coordinate vendor services, including contractors and emergency repairs.

• Address inquiries from policyholders, agents, internal partners, and others.

• Mentor members of the Inside and Field Property Team as well as the Expandable CAT Team.

• Provide technical support to members of the Catastrophe Claims team.

• Operate and maintain the company vehicle.

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent along with 3 years of field property claims handling experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.

• A bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.

• Must possess strong communication and organizational skills and be proficient with personal computers.

• Should have proficiency in property estimating and damage assessment.

• Demonstrated ability to engage with customers and agents in a professional manner.

• A valid driver's license and a good driving record are required.

• Must be able to travel on short notice.

• A state-specific adjuster's license may be required.
