This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Establish and organize the CI/CD function at Booxi by defining standards, documenting insights, and creating an environment conducive to scalability.
• Design GitHub Actions workflows across repositories utilizing reusable workflows and composite actions.
• Enhance build times through techniques like parallelization, Docker layer caching, and selective test execution.
• Safeguard the software supply chain using Workload Identity Federation, secret management, signed images, and vulnerability scanning.
• Substitute manual approvals with automated security and compliance checkpoints.
• Create progressive release strategies (canary, blue/green, and feature flags) on Cloud Run, incorporating automated health checks and telemetry-triggered rollbacks.
• Manage the transition of environments from development to production, including semantic versioning, changelogs, and release verification across microservices.
• Advise teams on zero-downtime schema migrations, trunk-based development, and GitOps workflows.
• Assess and present DORA metrics to both engineers and leadership.
• Over 5 years of experience in DevOps, release engineering, or platform engineering within a production SaaS environment.
• Extensive knowledge of GitHub Actions with the capability to troubleshoot slow or unstable pipelines.
• Experience in deploying and managing workloads on GCP, including Cloud Run, Artifact Registry, IAM, Cloud SQL, and MySQL.
• Proficient in Terraform for infrastructure as code.
• Familiarity with Docker.
• Experience in transforming manual or fragile deployments into fully automated pipelines.
• Daily utilization of AI for coding and the ability to articulate its influence on work processes.
• Competence in advocating for platform initiatives to PMs or executives, addressing time-to-market, risk, and cost considerations.
• Ability to devise a clear and comprehensible roadmap.
• French: native or professional proficiency.
• Functional English, both spoken and written (asset).
• Knowledge of GitOps workflows on Kubernetes (ArgoCD, Flux) or database migration automation tools.
