📋 Description

• Act as a vital member of the Executive Leadership Team, contributing to the formulation and implementation of MSH's strategy.

• Serve as the principal advisor to the President and CEO on matters related to financial strategy, business performance, organizational investments, strategic pricing, enterprise risk, and capital allocation.

• Offer independent, data-informed advice that enhances strategic decision-making and fosters accountability for organizational performance.

• Assess strategic opportunities, investments, partnerships, restructuring initiatives, and business models to ensure alignment with MSH's mission and long-term financial viability.

• Collaborate with senior executives, country leaders, and operational teams to enhance business performance and elevate decision quality.

• Challenge prevailing assumptions, analyze trade-offs, and ensure that leadership decisions are grounded in thorough financial analysis.

• Provide guidance on resource allocation and investment priorities, balancing mission impact with financial performance and organizational capacity.

• Lead the formulation and execution of MSH's long-term financial strategy and multi-year financial plans.

• Create the vision and systems necessary for effective organizational financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, scenario modeling, and performance management capabilities.

• Set financial and operational performance metrics that enable leadership to evaluate organizational health, profitability, efficiency, and growth.

• Deliver forward-looking analysis and recommendations concerning financial trends, funding risks, cost structures, and opportunities for revenue diversification.

• Develop financial scenarios and strategic options that facilitate informed decision-making amid changing market and donor conditions.

• Work in conjunction with executive leadership to identify and assess new revenue streams, partnerships, and funding opportunities.

• Ensure that pricing, cost recovery, indirect cost management, and business development strategies bolster organizational growth and sustainability.

• Collaborate with business development and program leaders to assess market opportunities and ensure the financial feasibility of strategic initiatives.

• Cultivate an entrepreneurial culture that promotes innovation and continuous improvement.

• Safeguard the financial integrity, stability, and sustainability of the organization through effective resource stewardship.

• Maintain robust internal control systems that protect organizational assets and ensure accountability.

• Oversee cash flow, treasury management, investments, liquidity planning, and working capital optimization.

• Continually evaluate financial risks and develop mitigation strategies to enhance organizational resilience.

• Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards, donor regulations, tax requirements, and all relevant legal and regulatory obligations.

• Provide strategic financial guidance and analysis to the Board of Directors and Audit Committee.

• Act as the liaison with the Board Finance Committee.

• Present financial performance, forecasts, strategic investments, and enterprise risks in a clear and persuasive manner to governance bodies.

• Oversee accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, treasury, payroll, financial systems, grants financial management, and related finance functions.

• Guarantee accurate, timely, and transparent financial reporting for leadership, donors, regulatory bodies, and the Board.

• Drive the standardization, simplification, and harmonization of finance processes across MSH's global operations.

• Build, develop, and lead a high-performing global finance organization.

• Establish clear expectations, performance standards, and development opportunities for finance staff.

• Enhance leadership capabilities within the finance team and develop succession plans for key roles.

• Foster collaboration and strong partnerships across functions, geographies, and organizational levels.


⛳️ Requirements

• An advanced degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance is required.

• At least 20 years of progressive financial leadership experience is necessary.

• Experience in a complex, high-performing non-profit organization is essential.

• Experience working with diverse donors is required.

• Proven track record of successful interactions with boards, audit committees, and executive leadership teams.

• Demonstrated success in leading complex budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.

• Proven cross-functional leadership and business partnership abilities.

• Strong budgeting experience, including the development of budgets for organizations with multiple segments and diverse funding streams.

• Competence in reviewing and communicating financial results, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and constructing financial models.

• In-depth understanding of nonprofit accounting principles, financial controls, and regulatory compliance.

• Experience managing and/or coordinating global partnerships and collaborative relationships at both executive and operational levels among multiple organizations, donors, and international counterparts.

• Experience in international development is preferred.

• Ability to work in an office environment and travel to countries where MSH operates (10%).
