Chief Auditor

📋 Description

• Develop and execute a thorough, risk-oriented global internal audit program in accordance with IIA International standards and best practices, with annual updates and dynamic adjustments as regulatory requirements and business risks evolve.

• Ensure internal audit coverage for MoonPay’s operations, encompassing capital, supervisory controls, AML/KYC/KYT, operational and capital adequacy requirements, as well as digital asset custody functions.

• Collaborate with external auditors to meet regulatory audit requirements and uphold readiness for regulatory examinations.

• Share findings, audit plans, and emerging risks with the Board, pertinent committees, and senior management.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of progressive internal audit experience, including substantial time spent in regulated financial institutions and trading or market infrastructure entities.

• Practical experience in auditing digital asset custody, cryptocurrency trading platforms, or blockchain-based financial systems.

• In-depth understanding of financial institution safety-and-soundness standards, trust and fiduciary responsibilities, and regulatory examination protocols.

• Proven experience in coordinating annual regulatory audit requirements with external auditors for a licensed trading organization.

• Active professional certification: Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA); [Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) is also required or should be obtained within 12 months].

• Bachelor’s degree is necessary; an advanced degree (MBA, J.D., or Master’s in Accounting, Finance, or related field) is highly preferred.
